It is with the size of the disproportion of the Chinese. This bridge which makes approximately 42 kilometers is longest of the world, it exceeds few hundreds of meters the preceding record held by “Lake Pontchartrain Causeway” in Louisiana.

Qinqdao Haiwan Bridge connects the towns of Qingdao and Huangdao. It required 4 years of work, 10.000 workmen, 450.000 tons of steel and more than 5000 pillars to support the building. The work will have cost a billion dollar.

More than 30.000 vehicles should borrow this new road axis. The awaited time-savers should contribute to the boom of the economic growth of the Eastern province of Jiangsu.

Let us recall in the passing that the bridge highest of the world is French, the viaduct of Millau culminates with 343 meters. Unequalled record…. for the moment!

More strange current events? Throw a glance with the largest swimming pool of the world.
